Summer Camp 2026

Join the Algonquin Sewing Center this summer for one of our week long Summer Camps! Each day participants will have the opportunity to try new sewing styles, techniques & methods, while they work to create their very own unique sewing projects.

Interested participants should have their own sewing machine & thorough working knowledge on how to use it.

Dates:

July 13-17 “Kids Can Sew”

This is a Beginner Level camp week for those who are completely new or have recently taken up sewing and quilting. Sewing machine knowledge and/or experience is not a requirement for this class as the instructor will be covering all the basics.

Each day of summer camp we will be working on different sewing based projects. The projects that we will be focusing on this week of summer camp are as follows: Tote Bag, Animal Project, Hand Sewing, Jean Project, Zippered Pouch

August 10-14 “Kids Can Quilt”

This is a Confident Beginner Level camp week for those who have some experience with sewing and quilting. Some sewing machine knowledge and/or experience is requirement for this class. The techniques and skills that will be utilized are more advanced then our July camp week.

The projects we will be focusing on this week of camp are more complex and will require multiple day to complete: Quilted Shall, Hand Sewing, Panel Quilt

Times: 10:00am-3:00pm

Cost: $230.00/wk (cost includes all material and sewing supplies needed for the week)

Ages: 9+yrs if already attended “kids can sew” program or 10+yrs for complete beginners

Be sure to bring a lunch, snacks and a drink.

Registration for summer camp programs can be done in person at the Algonquin Sewing Center store front.

The “Kids can Sew” beginner sewing program meets once a month on a Saturday. Each class participants will learn a new sewing technique and create a basic project using their newly learned skill.

Bringing your own sewing machine to class is encouraged, however we do have sewing machine available if required.

*If you do not have a sewing machine your youth can bring to class, the Algonquin Sewing Center has sewing machine available for rent at the cost of $10 per rental. Please let the staff know when you register for programming is you will require a sewing machine rental.
