Sewing Basics
Beginner Class
Instructor: Kim
Monday 1:00-4:00pm
This is an excellent beginner class for those who have no previous sewing experience but are looking to learn. In this course the instructor will provide a thorough breakdown on the use of sewing machine as well as starter techniques through the creation of small sewing projects.
Our Beginner Level classes are for those who are completely new to sewing & quilting, beginner-beginner if you will. Sewing machine knowledge and/or experience is not a requirement to sign up for these classes as the instructor will be covering all the basics with you in the program. Although personal sewing machine are recommended upon registration, they are not mandatory as we have rental machine available upon request.
Cost: $100 per 5 week session + materials & supplies
Fall Session: Oct. 19-Nov. 16
*If you do not have a sewing machine you can bring with you to class the Algonquin Sewing Center has sewing machine available for rent at the cost of $10 per day. Please let the staff know when you register for programming is you require a sewing machine rental.
Sew Kind of Wonderful
Confident Beginner Class

Monday 1:00pm-4:00pm
In this program quilters will have the opportunity to work on any “Sew Kind of Wonderful” quilting project of their choice. An instructor will be on site to assist you with the project process and any challenges that may come up. Specifically the “Sew Kind of Wonderful” projects that will be being focused on are their Curve and Mini Curve projects.
Our Confident Beginner classes are for those who have already participated in quilting program(s) in the past and/or have previous sewing or quilting experience but are looking to expand their knowledge and techniques.
Cost: $100 per 5 week session + materials & supplies

Confident Beginner class

Wednesday 10:00am-1:00pm
The “bring your own project” class runs in five week increments and is perfect for those who are already comfortable with sewing, creating and quilting. In this program you will have the opportunity to create any number of projects you desire while having the benefit of the a social quilting experience. Additionally, an Instructor will be present throughout to assist with any issues or challenges you may come across while working on your projects.
Our Confident Beginner classes are for those who have already participated in quilting program(s) in the past and/or have previous sewing or quilting experience but are looking to expand their knowledge and techniques.
Cost: $100 per 5 week session + materials & supplies

Fall Session 2: Oct. 14 - Nov. 25 (no class Oct. 21 & Nov. 11)

Intermediate Class

Thursday 10:00am-1:00pm
This five week class is a great opportunity to work on current projects, or start new projects as well as socialize with other quilters. All quilters are welcome and encouraged to join this program’s creative and encouraging atmosphere.
This session we are also offering bonus group projects within in this program. Class goers can choose to participate in these group projects or simply continue working on their own.
Our Intermediate level classes are for those who have already participated in quilting program(s) in the past and have previous knowledge and confidence with a variety of quilting/sewing skills and techniques.
Cost: $100 per 5 week session + materials & supplies

BAGS BAGS BAGS
INTERMEDIATE class

Thursday 6:00-9:00pm
Join us for this special edition of our Thursday night quilting class in which participants will have the opportunity to try making four different functional bags for every day use; Beginner Zipper Bag, Hemmingway Pouch, Boxie Bag and 4+5 “Sew Together” bag. Some of the techniques that will be being focused on include bag construction and zipper installation.
Our Intermediate level classes are for those who have already participated in quilting program(s) in the past and have previous knowledge and confidence with a variety of quilting/sewing skills and techniques.
Cost: $100 per 5 week session + materials & supplies
Fall Session: Sept. 3 - Oct. 8 “Bags, Bags, Bags” (no class Sept. 10)
*There is a supply list for this class and preparatory work needed throughout this program. Participants will receive a full breakdown upon registration.
Art East Patterns
INTERMEDIATE class

Thursday 6:00-9:00pm
Join Kim’s Thursday night quilting class and discover how to make all the quilted projects you have ever wanted. This program will be focusing on an Art East Project of your choice, which you can work through at your own pace, with the benefit of having an experience instructor there to assist you as you work.
Please note as part of this program the instructor will be facilitating various technique demos based on the projects the participants will be selecting from the Art Eats catalogue.
Our Intermediate level classes are for those who have already participated in quilting program(s) in the past and have previous knowledge and confidence with a variety of quilting/sewing skills and techniques.
Cost: $100 per 5 week session + materials & supplies
Fall Session: Oct. 15-Nov. 12 Cape Breton Cord.
*Participant can select small projects that can be completed each week or they can choose to work on one larger project throughout the full five week program.
Christmas with Kim
Confident Beginner class

Join Kim’s for this special Holiday edition of her standard quilting programs. Get into the spirit of giving and completed some adorable Christmas themed project just in time for December.
Our Intermediate level classes are for those who have already participated in quilting program(s) in the past and have previous knowledge and confidence with a variety of quilting/sewing skills and techniques.
Cost: $50 per 2 week session + materials & supplies
Monday Session: Nov. 23 & 30
Thursday Session: Nov. 19 & 26
