Small Projects

Beginner Class

Instructor: Kim

Monday 10:00am-1:00pm

In this program participants will learn the basics of how to use their sewing machine, while creating cute and useful quilted projects. Each week a different project and new techniques will be presented.

Our Beginner Level classes are for those who are completely new to sewing & quilting. Sewing machine knowledge and/or experience is not a requirement for this class as the instructor will be covering all the basics.

Cost: $120 per session

Winter Session 2- Feb. 23 to Apr. 6 (no class Mar. 16) “Small Projects”

Spring Session 1- Apr. 13 to May 25 (no class May 18) TBA

*If you do not have a sewing machine you can bring with you to class the Algonquin Sewing Center has sewing machine available for rent at the cost of $10 per day. Please let the staff know when you register for programming is you require a sewing machine rental.

Paper Play

Confident Beginner Class

Instructor: Kim

Monday 1:30-4:30pm

Join Kim’s Paper Play class on Monday afternoons and discover how to make a beautiful quilted projects through the art of paper piecing. This program will also be exploring the various techniques of applique as well.

Our Confident Beginner classes are for those who have already participated in quilting program(s) in the past and/or have previously sewing or quilting experience but are looking to expand their knowledge and techniques.

Cost: $120 per session

Confident Beginner Class

Instructor: Erin

Wednesday 10:00am-1:00pm

The “bring your own project” class runs in six week increments and is perfect for those who are already comfortable with sewing, creating and quilting. In this program you will have the opportunity to create any number of projects you desire while having the benefit of the a social quilting experience. Additionally, an Instructor will be present throughout to assist with any issues or challenges you may come across while working on your projects.

Our Confident Beginner classes are for those who have already participated in quilting program(s) in the past and/or have previous sewing or quilting experience but are looking to expand their knowledge and techniques.

Cost: $110 per sessions+ supplies

Winter Session 2- Mar. 4 to Apr. 15 (no class Mar. 18)

Spring Session 1- Apr. 22 to May 27

INTERMEDIATE class

Instructor: Erin

Thursday 10:00am-1:00pm

This six week class is a great opportunity to work on current projects,  or start new projects as well as socialize with other quilters. All quilters are welcome and encouraged to join this program’s creative and encouraging atmosphere.

Our Intermediate level classes are for those who have already participated in quilting program(s) in the past and have previous knowledge and confidence with a variety of quilting/sewing skills and techniques.

Cost: $110+supplies

Winter Session 2- Mar. 5 to Apr. 16 (no class Mar. 19)

Spring Session 1- Apr. 23 to May 28

applique and Paper Play

Intermediate Class

Instructor: Kim

Thursday 6:00-9:00pm

Join Kim’s Thursday night quilting class and discover how to make all the quilted projects you have ever wanted. This program will be focusing on the art of paper piecing and applique while creating various projects.

Our Intermediate level classes are for those who have already participated in quilting program(s) in the past and have previous knowledge and confidence with a variety of quilting/sewing skills and techniques.

Cost: $120 per session

Winter Session 2- Feb. 26 to Apr. 9 (no class Mar. 19) “Applique & Paper Piecing”

Spring Session 1- Apr. 16 to May 28 (no class May 21) “Quilting Techniques”

All Algonquin Sewing Center Classes & Workshops are subject to change without notice.
