beginner class

This program is perfect for those new to Knitting or those who are out of practice and need some guidance on getting back into the groove. Participants will be given a thorough introduction on how to understand and properly read knitting patterns, as well as how to interpret labels for knitting notions and products. Additionally, this course will explore some core techniques and concepts needed for all knitters. Some of the projects that will be being covered throughout the first session will be fingerless gloves, and dual coloured scarves. All supplies will be included in the course cost.

Cost: $55 per session

Crochet

Beginner Class

Tuesday 6:00-7:00pm

This program is perfect for those new to the art of Crochet or those who have just begun with the craft. Participants will be given a thorough introduction on how to read crochet patterns, how to understand labels for crochet notions and products as well as some core techniques that all crochet enthusiasts should know. Some of the projects that will be being covered throughout the first session will be headbands, and multi coloured granny squares. All supplies will be included in the course cost.

Cost: $55 per session

Knitting Circle

Confident beginner class

Every other Thursday 1:30-4:30pm

Bring your knitting with you and we will spend the afternoon knitting and socializing. Help is available for any questions or problems you may encounters.

Participants should have some knowledge of knitting. Help and motivation will be available to work on completing in-progress projects.

Cost: $50/6 classes or $10 drop-in (supplies not included)

MACHINE EMBROIDERY

Confident Beginner Class

Once a month on Tuesday 10:00am-4:00pm

This program is designed for all skill levels as our instructor will work with each participant individual. All participants require their own embroidery machine and have a working knowledge on how to use it.

The course is designed for those who are interested in starting to do machine embroidery but are not sure where to begin. Or for those who are looking for guidance on specific projects. Participants can bring their own projects or follow along as a group to learn all the skills and techniques to creating beautiful embroidery patterns and designs.

Cost: $50 per sessions+ supplies

bRAIDED dENIM rUG

intermediate class

Wednesday 1:30-4:30pm

Our Intermediate level classes are for those who have already participated in quilting program(s) in the past and have previously knowledge and confidence with a variety of quilting/sewing skills and techniques.

In this four week program participants will be tasked creating long braided coils and then sewing the braids together to create a rug. This project requires between 5-15 full pairs of jeans depending on the desired size of rug. Women’s jeans are recommended for this project as they are thinner and easier to manipulate.

*Health Statement

This is a laborious project due to the weight of the denim overall, as it needs to be feed through your machine while creating the rug. Participants should be comfortable lifting 15lbs.

Cost: $80+supplies (kits available upon request)

Block of the Month

Beginner Class

3rd Tuesday of the Month 1-4pm

Our Confident Beginner classes are for those who have already participated in quilting program(s) in the past and/or have previously sewing or quilting experience but are looking to expand their knowledge and techniques.

Join Joanne once a month to create one of two beautiful wool block wall hanging; “Secret Garden” by Sew Cherished or “Basin Spools Quilt” by Buttermilk Basin Design Co. This block of the month will feature a wool applique creation process on cotton. Throughout each session participant will cut, sew and create each block from start to finish.

Cost: $120 +hst, supplies & pattern
