Winter Retreat 2025

Back by popular demand, we are running an in-store retreat again.
 What is an in-store retreat?

You come and go during the day as you like and go home to your own bed at night.

The Retreat is in the classroom of the store
Retreat will run:  Fri 1o:00-8:00
 Sat 10:00-8:00
 Sun 10:00-3:00
Price includes: Coffee, tea and hot chocolate all day
Dinners on Friday & Saturday night and lunches on Friday, Saturday & Sunday
Let us know any dietary restrictions when signing up

What to bring
-Bring your own projects to work on. Each person will get their own table for the weekend to work on.

-Bring your Sewing machine and supplies.

Ironing boards, irons, cutting table, rulers and cutting mats are supplied.

All equipment you bring can be left every night as the room we are in will be locked.

MONTHLY HAPPENINGS

Holiday Houses with Helen

This BOM series is designed to create 12 beautiful hangings for yourself or as gifts. Finished size individually as 12" x 14 1/2" wall hangings. Helen will walk you through creating these beautiful BOM blocks! You will be adding your own fabric for the houses and backgrounds, a great scrap buster. This is a fantastic project to embellish with all your favourite sequins, decorative buttons, and trims. This Classes meet monthly on the first Tuesday of each month from 1;30-4-30

Holiday Houses: is a great way to decorate your home or office for every month of the year! This inspiring collection of Victorian influenced homes and town buildings make unique display quilts.

Machine Embroidery Class

This monthly class is your chance to give that embroidery machine a workout! Bring your own project, something you might be nervous to try at home, and Helen will guide you through. This class runs the 2nd Tuesday of every month.

Next class: Tuesday Jan 14 from 10:00-4:00

Experience: Intermediate Sewer with an Embroidery Machine

Cost: $40+ Tax per class. Registration is done monthly, but sign up early as this class is very popular. Bring Your Own Supplies

Class dates: Jan 14, Feb 11, NO March, Apr 8, May 13, June 10

This class is for children who are interested in learning how to sew on a sewing machine. The class runs on the first Saturday of every month for children 8 years and up. Cost includes all material and patterns. A basic sewing kit is required and a list will be provided. Each class they will make a different project. See the class page for upcoming projects.

Each class is $45.00 + tax or pay for 5 classes for $200.00 + tax , a savings of $25.00

Sit & Stitch with Joanne

NEW TIME (5:00-8:00PM) AND WEEKDAY (Wednesday)

This is a ‘drop-in’ for anyone interested in hand stitching, wool applique and a little socializing. This event runs from 5:00-8:00pm on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. Bring your own project or pick up a wool pattern or kit at the store. Joanne would be happy to assist or teach you how to do wool applique. Cost:$5.00 + Tax each day. Pay when you arrive.

NEW Block of the Month with Joanne

Joanne Jeffries will be doing a wool-appliqué Block of the Month quilt. Its a Holiday Spectacular! Make the season bright with a beautiful quilt that will spark your favourite Christmas memories as you make the 15 nostalgic wool-applique blocks. Bring your blocks every month to work on in the class with Joanne. Interested in doing only a few of the blocks, come out and work on them.

  • Chenille Workshop

    If you are looking for a way to add a unique textural effect to your quilting projects, then you should definitely learn how to make chenille! Chenille is a process that involves cutting through layers of fabric to create a fluffy, almost fringed effect. You will need to have a chenille rotary cutter for this project.
