NEW CLASS - You(th) can Sew Clothing
(for anyone ages 10+)
Get your teen immersed in the amazing world of sewing and fashion. These classes are for those who are ready to begin making garments.
Throughout the classes youth will gain the skills and techniques in :
Learning basic sewing terminology
Gain control over the sewing speed and pace
Learning components of the sewing machine
Learn how to wind and load bobbin & thread the sewing machine
how to take your measurements and choose the appropriate size
Learn proper pattern layout to reduce fabric waste
Learn how to follow pattern instructions and How to modify a pattern for a perfect fit
Learn how to choose the right fabric for their project and how to pin and cut out fabric pieces
A Refresher course on sewing machine basics (straight stitch, zig zag stitch, pivoting, backstitching, seam allowance, etc) and safety of operating a sewing machine will also be covered.
Our first project will be a button up shirt (pattern included). Registration fee will cover the pattern, thread, interfacing and class fee. Students will need to choose their own buttons and 1oo% cotton fabric, and if bought from the store we are offering a 25% discount. Students will all be making the same project, with specifics for each individual. Students will come away with new confidence in reading patterns and using a sewing machine.
Classes will run the 1st Saturday of the month from 1:30-4:30 starting September 7th.
This project will take multiple classes to complete so we are asking students to commit to 5 consecutive classes. 5 classes will be $200.00 + tax. Classes can be paid on a monthly basis of $40.00+ tax if needed.
Kids Can Crochet Class
In this 6 week class, students will learn the basics of crocheting, preparing them for larger and more complex projects. We will introduce your child to crochet in a fun, accepting environment. Not only is crocheting a fun craft that kids can enjoy, but it also teaches them important skills like hand-eye coordination, patience, improves fine motor skills, enhances focus & concentration and helps build self esteem.
. Participants must be 9+ years & up. Space is limited, so sign up early.
Beginners class - Wednesday Sept 11- Oct 16 4:45-5:45
No experience is necessary, this is a course for beginners
Cost: $50.00+ tax, A crochet hook and yarn will be included in the registration fee.
Intermediate class - Tuesday Sept 10 - Oct 15 4:30-5:30
In this group they will be working on learning more complex stitches and making various items. The group will start off making a crocodile
Cost: $50.00+tax (yarn for the project is included in the price)
Kids Can Sew workshops
This class is for children who are interested in learning how to sew on a sewing machine.
This class will run from September to June, on the first Saturday of every month for children 9 years and up. Parents are welcome to attend with their child to help them and be a part of the learning experience. You can sign up for classes monthly or in blocks of 5.
Students will begin learning all about the sewing machine while making a different project each month. Skills learned: sewing machine basics, sewing machine parts, how to thread a machine, wind a bobbin and load the bobbin, sewing machine stitching, using a pattern, cutting along the grain, and ironing material properly are just a few of the skills they will learn.
A sewing machine is required for this class, so if you have access to one that’s great. If you do not have a sewing machine let us know when registering, as we have access to a few machines that can be used for the day.
Cost includes all material and patterns. A basic sewing kit is required and a list will be provided
Each class is $45.00 + tax or pay for 5 classes for $200.00 + tax , a savings of $25.00

Kids Can Sew March Break Camp
We will be running a kids camp for 1 week on Monday March 10-Friday March 14 from 10;00-2:30 each day. Cost will be $210.00+ tax for the week. This includes all the materials and supplies needed to make the weeks projects.
